- A block of text in Word includes text and text formatting.
- Graphics and other nontext elements can also be selected as a block. In fact, you can select graphics along with text in the same block.
- When the status bar is displaying word-count statistics, the number of words selected in the block of text is displayed next to the total number of words in the document.
